March 15, 2015 Cat's Cradle

March 15, 2015 I had driven down to Raleigh North Carolina to hang out with The Veldt  at Cat’s Cradle. They were doing a show with The Church, a band I actually never heard of.  It had been the first full day since I left Brooklyn and I was doing my best to keep my mind entertained with other things. Unfortunately the Church didn’t really pull me in. I found myself standing left of the Sound man’s console in the crowd just sort of numb and feeling nothing… so I took this one shoot of them before I walked over to the next room where The Veldt were going to perform. - Ed Marshall Photography NYC

Afternoon and happy 2014! Its been a bit since my last blog post, but I have to say that MANY positive things have been and are developing. The overall climate has been quite erratic to say the least, but what else for us to do but continue on! I've been steadily working on multiple projects on my own and with other Artists, along with maintaining the family pretty much daily. Social Media apps have made it easier to multitask, but soon I may just have to hand certain things off. Not so much my real time thoughts more upcoming events and completion of projects most likely. So presently I am working on a new Photo Book called 7 Days New York City in Black and White. It is mainly going to be a 13X11 Landscape sized book of New York City images in black and white that I have captured a number of years now. Basic reasoning for creating this book was and still is to show my love of the city I was born and raised in. The city has changed a lot and I am not necessarily trying to show the change, but instead working to preserve the bits left of my childhood memories. Most of the images are fairly recent, maybe the last eight years or so. Some go as far back as the early Nineties! All in all the images as they were captured were seen as a feeling that reminded me of another time in my life here in New York City. It isn't always easy for me to explain what I saw in enough detail to truly have whomever I am speaking to visualize the moments. However, allow me to have camera in hand, the correct timing and light... now that's another whole story.

Sincerely,
