Take heed to the man who walks with cock in hand

MuthaWit comes home to roost with release of epic LP "men & women (la Revenge de Uncle Baldy)"

What has been said about MuthaWit:

”Boston Fielder and MuthaWit are Gods in the universe they have created and these songs, which you must hear, are their Adam and Eve, cloned to a fallen and disrupted infinity.” - The Wire, UK

”MuthaWit is simultaneously urban and tribal; a meeting of the musical hemispheres, mutatis mutandis and presto! - a carnival of twisted soul.” - Magnet Magazine

April 16, 2011 – New York, NY.  URB ALT experimentalists MuthaWit release their debut album men & women (la Revenge de Uncle Baldy)” on April 20.  The 3-24 piece musical collective have created a 10 song audio hybrid that sighs with the openness of the rural South while screaming through the clamor of the urban North. MuthaWit singer/songwriter/filmmaker/producer Boston Fielder has become a kinetic figure in the global music/visual arts scene by spearheading the annual URB ALT Festival in NYC and Atlanta for the past 10 years. During that time MuthaWit’s crew has worked with musical lights such as FunkadelicKyp Malone of TV on the RadioTwin ShadowBrendan O’BrienParis Suit YourselfLeila AduJneiro Jarel, Res and many others.  “men & women (la Revenge de Uncle Baldy)” is a charged headphone homage to Tupelo, MS jazz/blues legend George Smith a.k.a. (Boston's)Uncle Baldy who is a largely forgotten but primary influence on Elvis Presley’s early musical career.  The infinite dance of past vs future and acoustic vs electronic is at the core of the album. Boston states that “‘men & women’ was produced in exotic locales such as under my loft bed in Harlem; inside a broiling attic in Stone Mountain, GA.; in a pissy Brooklyn urinal; and on a front porch in the cottonfields of the Mississippi Delta. We kept it raw and live when possible.  Our only sound proofing was piles of dirty socks.  So, the album definitely smells great…if you like cornchips.”

"men & women (la Revenge de Uncle Baldy)" is available for digital download on 4/20 exclusively through MuthaWit’s website and Bandcamp.com page.  The download also offers special merchandise such as t-shirts, DVD videos, pens and unreleased tracks.  The physical CD will be released June 3rd when Muthawit launches its 2 month North American tour in New York City during the URB ALT Festival.
